Just when you thought the leopard print used up its nine lives – it’s back and in full force! Last time I wore the print was winter 2017, and it was an oversized (almost my size), bold, furry coat. And I’ve already gotten rid of that coat. Truth! And bummer! Maybe I should’ve kept it.
But it looks like I missed the memo that everything in fashion goes around and comes back around.
And when it does, there’s no escaping it. Who remembers Kate Moss wearing leopard print coats long before off-duty style was a thing, or Shania Twain wearing a leopard print crop top and matching pants in the “That Don’t Impress Me Much” music video? LOVE!!!
We saw a bunch of trends like vintage swimsuits and retro sunglasses making a comeback this year, and the leopard print is no exception.
After seeing celebs who are always on trend like Bella Hadid, Kaia Gerber and Fergie rocking this hot trend of the moment and all of the fashion houses using this print in their runway shows, I realized I had to get on board with it.
Since leopard is known to be a bold, statement-making print, I think incorporating it in everyday summer looks like a crop top or swimwear is a super fresh approach to this trend. This crop top from River Island is my favorite leopard print item of the moment, but I’m eyeing sooo many cute things with this timeless print from River Island. Especially this slip dress. Obsessed! See links to my River Island favorites below.
I feel like Pebble Flintstone in this outfit 🙂 What do you think? Styling this print with denim is easy and fun, but I wanted to get out of my comfort zone with this look so I styled it with white ruffle trousers and ruffled flat sandals. I finished it off with my everyday jewelry and straw bag, of course.
I rounded up 5 Fresh Ways to incorporate this wild and exotic trend into your summer wardrobe, so keep on reading!
- Summer tops like crop tops or bodysuits: Perfect for those of you who are shy of this trend and want to make a slow start.
2. Swimwear: Because it’s summer and we all want to the cutest wear swimsuits.
3. Slip or mini dresses: Leopard print dresses are just so good in my opinion. Convincing enough? 🙂 Obsessed with this one!!
4.Accessories: Shoes, Bags, and Belts. Because adding a little leopard upgrades any look! I kind of have a thing for leopard print boots. I think I need one.
5. Leopard print styled with denim: Never forget that leopard print looks incredible with denim. Umm, what doesn’t look good with denim right? Haven’t tried this for myself yet but will definitely soon!!!
Not sure if I’ll ever go back to a big leopard print coat, but I will always love this timeless, and now “seasonless” print in accent pieces, or accessories like leopard boots or a leopard bag or scarf. But who knows! I tend to change up my style a lot, so maybe in the fall you might just see me in a full on leopard print look like a suit, a new leopard print coat and all? 🙂
