Perfect New Year’s Party Look: How to Style a 70s Velvet Jumpsuit

It’s no secret I like to glam things up a bit when it comes to my style. I’ve come across this velvet jumpsuit by BB Dakota at Mimi & Red Boutique in North Park San Diego, and I knew I had to style it my way – the glam way. NYE is around the corner, so this would be a perfect look if you’re celebrating at a hotel or a house party. It’s chic, comfy and a show-stopper look. I will probably end up picking this as my NYE party look this year.

They didn’t have the jumpsuit in my size which is zero, but I liked it so much that I still shot this look even though this jumpsuit is a little big for me. I also love that it’s not too long – even though I’m not very tall and usually need to hem most long skirts and jumpsuits. I’ve been into my long straight hair lately, which used to be my everyday hairstyle up until three years ago. I’m hooked again!

The shoes I picked for this look are these gold strappy sandals from Steve Madden which are currently on sale for $49.99, and you can even get 50% off that price with the code JOY.

If you guys are following on me on Instagram, then you know my current obsession with faux-fur coats. I have this faux-fur coat in three colors and got them each for $35 from H&M on Black Friday. Great deal, huh? They were normally $49.00 which is still not very expensive but why not get them on sale while you can? 🙂

This look reminds me of how girlfriends of drug dealers or rich club owners were dressed in 70’s and 80’s movies like Scarface. Who else remembers Michelle Pheiffer’s outfits? One of my all-time favorite wardrobes from classic movies.

Thanks for stopping by!

xoxo, Nihan
