Who says being too matchy-matchy is a giant fashion faux pas? Fashion is all about having fun with whatever you wear so no rules in this blog.
The combination of a midi-skirt and a matching top probably give you major 90’s working-girl vibes, but don’t shy away from them. Styled right, separates can be surprisingly cool, especially when they’re season-appropriate. Tops paired back to a matching skirt or pants is a modern and chic way to spice up your outfits. It’s still chilly for mini-skirts and shorts combos here in LA. But a midi-length skirt and a matching top are pretty perfect for these in-between days.
How to pull of a matchy-matchy outfit? I styled my grey matching separates with a simple black leather jacket and black buckled booties since this is a whole lot of houndstooth print in one outfit. Needless to say, both pieces can be styled separately with basic and/or bold pieces. Top, skirt and leather jacket are from Topshop, boots are from Just Fab, clutch is from H&M.
