My favorite show of Fashion Week San Diego 2014 Night 4 was Alpaca Couture. I loved the maxi dresses; they had sort of a resort feel. I love that the gowns and maxi dresses almost blended into a cool artsy style with brushstrokes featuring bright and playful graphic patterns. There were these two dresses that were white with pink/purple patterns, one of them is one-shoulder and the other one had cutouts, they looked so fabulous.
The obvious stars of this brand are the adorable alpacas these beautiful garments come from. . They’re trying to generate demand for alpaca fashion and change perceptions of the fiber, raise its status to that of merino and cashmere. I say it’s pretty cool!
J.L. Rocha, men’s shoe wear and leather jackets/accessories designer, had everyone in awe of his creations. J.L. Rocha show was full of colorful men’s shoes and leather jackets for women and men with a classy luxe European style. The products are handmade in Mexico and I’m digging the international and heritage/culture aspect of this company. I had a chance to get some facetime with the J.L while his collection was getting ready to hit the runway, great designer with a ton of great ideas.
Remember in my last post I talked how much I like Topshop body-con dresses? Well, on this night I opted for another one. Partially from still not having unpacked from my move and partially from this dress being fancy, fall-ish and comfortable (SCORE!) at the same time.
Other runway show ups that night were Oseas Villatoro, American Prep Clothing Co, Bine & Bas, Marloly and Danh Ta. Enjoy my favorite looks below and stay tuned for Night 5 Recap.
