If you’re looking for a property near Palm Springs that will truly take your breath away, the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage is a must-stay. My friend Heidi and I headed out to the desert for a few Stagecoach events, and I was thrilled to finally find availability at this hotel—it’s been on my must-stay list forever (yes, I still keep a list of hotels I want to stay at!).
From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with exceptional service and an unmistakable sense of luxury. Here’s a little tip: don’t be surprised if you spot a celebrity or two! We even saw Caitlyn Jenner while checking in. The entrance is adorned with gorgeous, oversized floral arrangements, setting the tone for the stunning lobby and expansive grounds beyond. Everything here feels open, airy, and inviting.
Our resort king room offered a beautiful view of the pool and a touch of desert landscape, yet remained quiet enough to feel peaceful.
The room’s comfortable seating area and spacious balcony quickly became our go-to spots for breakfast each morning. Our balcony overlooked the mountains and the pool, making it the perfect spot to watch the sunset, enjoy our coffees, and have a peaceful breakfast surrounded by nature.
The closet was impressive, but the bathroom was the real showstopper: all marble, with a separate shower and oversized bathtub, plus luxurious Diptyque Paris amenities—every girl’s favorite body products and candle brand. I love that all Ritz-Carlton properties also include extra goodies like mouthwash, a shave kit, a dental kit, a loofah, and more.
The marble bathroom was also perfect for my skincare and makeup routines—chic, spacious, and bright. The separate shower and oversized tub make this room ideal for couples or families.
The bed was absolutely one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. Watching new Euphoria episodes and eating Levain Bakery lemon cookies was a core memory I’ll cherish forever.
And the slippers! Every Ritz-Carlton I’ve stayed at offers these cozy slippers, and they always become my go-to for strolling around the property.
With several restaurant options on the property, you hardly need to leave—but if you’re craving your favorite Palm Springs spots, downtown Palm Springs is only about 15-20 minutes away. There’s also a Whole Foods nearby, which we stopped by for a few snacks and dinner. We were craving a quick, healthy, fresh meal.
The resort sits on a hillside overlooking the Coachella Valley, blending seamlessly into the landscape and offering breathtaking views of the desert and mountains. The lobby is both luxurious and inviting, and the hotel offers unique experiences like “Sunset Echoes: A Cahuilla Bird Singing Presentation” and a “Cultural Immersion Hike” through Andreas Canyon. I didn’t get to try these this time, but they’re at the top of my list for the future.
To sum it up: I absolutely loved my stay at the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage. I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m craving those luxurious Rancho Mirage vibes and want to romanticize my desert trips all over again.
